Our story

A classroom built by hand, for kids who walk and bike for miles.

The CKP Foundation runs a small, free school in Watang village, Kampot. Students who would otherwise miss out on basic education come every day — many of them on bicycles donated by the community.

We teach English, reading, and writing in a corrugated‑metal classroom that we built ourselves. Every dollar of support goes directly to keeping the school running: notebooks, a working projector, electricity, and a roof that doesn't leak.

Meet the founder

Pheakdey Chhem

“Education should be free for every child.”

By day, Pheakdey manages a hotel in Kampot. On his days off — and most evenings — he runs the CKP Foundation school out of his own pocket and free time, teaching English and basic literacy to kids from his home village.

He started small: a whiteboard, a handful of plastic chairs, and a corrugated‑metal roof he helped build himself. Word spread, more kids showed up, and now there are over thirty students learning every week — most of them biking in from neighbouring villages.
